@bharatbhau
It is an imagined character and i have no idea what you mean in the rest of the comment.
The comments have grown more entertaining than the story itself.
PS: I liked the incident too, im an engineer and have done the same for my Engineering Drawing classes, my cousin who did her BSc Zoology did it for her records too. We seem to be a family of cheaters tut tut
You have written something very close to my heart, My family is mostly fair and im the dark horse
I am always reminded about it and it has firmly lodged somewhere in the depths of my brain and made me resentful. When I was academically better than my white skinned counterparts the only response was "poor thing isnt fair so atleast let her be educated" which was a huge positive thing in my life. While the others married off and are now housewives with children with no say in any matter, i have a successful career and a husband who thinks brains matter more than beauty.
ps: sorry for unloading my life history here
why the whole ranting and raving? I myself am featured in the book and yes i do consider the poem i wrote average. At the same time i was overjoyed that it was published. I have no false pretenses of being a poet, leave alone a good one, but my voice and message were heard.It was not just a book of poems but voices of women here. This should be a cause for celebration not sour grapes.
At the same time there were some beautiful instances of poetry in that book, however much you consider yourself an expert in these matters, that book was not an utter waste. Sulekha is not the Booker committee or the rhysling comittee but a platform for bloggers, let me repeat, not just writers, not just poets, not literature students aspiring for greatness but bloggers.
dear bharatheeyan
good for you to see the positive points, but it was not entertaining for me. although i agree each one has his own take on what is entertainment and what isn't.
The incredible Hulk
Thanks!
